Joe (Robert “Robby” Read) is a painter preparing for an exhibition. He has been working on a portrait of someone who is no longer part of his life, but he cannot seem to finish it.

When Luca (Julián Merlo), a friend of a friend, arrives in Berlin and stays at his studio, they begin talking about the painting and the people behind Joe’s work. Luca offers to pose for him, and their conversation gradually turns into something more intimate.

What begins as a portrait session becomes a sexual encounter. For Joe, painting has been a way of holding on to someone from his past. Meeting Luca may change the way he sees his work and the people who become part of it.
